Okay, T61P came, it's missing UWB and WWAN, had ITM. Fins on back port next to power cord are bent, i bent them back out with a knife, not sure about what to do with it. Here's pics.
Also purchased were the ultrabay battery, 2x 9 cell batteries, and the DVD multiburner, shown on my warcraft 3 cd case.
=================
Okay Update- Mini Review!
LCD- seems bright enough, I appreciate the 1920x1600, clarity is fantastic. Screen doesn't wobble like my Vaio, no flex.
Fingerprint Reader- Simple enough to use, took me 5 tries to get my right ring finger. I don't know why it didn't work.
Keyboard- dream, real nice, solid, quality feeling, full stroke, definitely ergonomic and easy to find each key. non-clackety like my dinovo space bar from logitech. Full size keyboard means really easy to use hotkeys in videogames, because it doesn't change locations from your desktop. Also means you don't accidentally type/select/delete something, as is happens when your del, backspace, enter, shift, and control are all shrunken like the vaio.
Right Side- 2 USB Ports, DVD-R.
Left Side- 1 USB Port, 1 exhaust port, vga, ethernet/modem, mic/headphones, and express card. I think i may need to stick a WWAN in there.
RAM- upgraded ram using NBR's official ram link from Stallen's sig. 4GB of ram from ewiz.com, kinda wish I knew what ram it was that allows me to get the 5.0 and above rating for ram when vista first came out, I thought my ram was plenty fast, it's micron memory. Removed 4 screws on the bottom of the laptop, removed palm rest, detached connector, took out RAM, then installed. Laptop came with 2x512mb of Hynix.
Weight- All weights include laptop plus that accessory.
-6.6lb. with 9 cell and DVD-rom
-6.6lb. with 9 cell and ultrabay
-6.2lb with 9 cell solo
-5.6lb with ultrabay solo
I guess conclusions are that if you wanna go light, take only the ultrabay at 5.6. I will probably be taking both 9 cells and the ultrabay with me to class, leaving my ROM at home for installation or for playing WC3.
Advanced Mini-Dock-
-I like the angle of typing.
-Fits in real nice
-DVI works, as it should.
Other notes
-Missing UWB and WWAN. I guess I need to use express card for WWAN.
-Fits in my Louis Vuitton Messager in Sable. a 1515.00 laptop bag you can get for 1300.00 in Hawaii due to no sales tax and cheaper prices. Also fits my NorthFace Recon2 Backpack, however, 9 cell must come out. I suggest you carry the battery in a separate pouch.
-Exhaust port fins bent on side closest to AC socket. Bent them back out a bit with a knife, but they're definitely damaged by the installer. Makes me want to get the on-site just to have someone replace the fins.
-Doesn't fingerprint easily
-Didn't find any real spamware, only uninstalled Microsoft pre-install to install my own academic/professional version.came with 31.7GB used out of 100GB. This number includes the approximately 1.6 gig for Microsoft Office+ OneNote, and WC3. I still have 54.3GB free of 86.0 gig. It seems the hidden partition hides 14gb of something.
-All in all really happy with the build quality. Kind like the day I bought my DW drums satin oil finish drumset/zildjian a-custom and k-custom cymbals/DW9000 hardware, or my myrtle/port orford cedar Goodall guitar. Now I have nothing to buy, and can focus on paying off things =)

Wow, thanks Kebs! Looks great! Congrats.
-
Thanks Kebs. One switch for BT/Wifi ?
-
Looks nice. Is that screen on full brightness?
-
Kebs i noticed you didnt have the battery pack installed. Can you do me a favor? With your power management set at maximum performance or source optimized, go into the task manager, then resource monitor, and tell me what your CPU maximum frequency is. Thanks.
-
We have the same wallpaper.
Interfacelift! Lol. -
Kebs You are faster than me lol i was about to post my syatem's pictures lol, man its a rock solid machine i really love it , the good thing is speaker and headphone jacks are on the side

-

congratulations, it looks good...as does all the thinkpads
-
nice kebs, you really went all out. T7700 and 4 GB ram. Did you buy all the ram from lenovo or did you add your own?
-
Lower resolution? No way! That high res is why I ordered this sucker!
-
-
So, why didn't it ship with WUSB? Are any shipping with WUSB?
-
I searched back through krebs posts, this one he got today he specifically ordered w/out WUSB. There is still hope for some of us!
-
Jaydm...do you find it hard to read text when using the internet, etc?
-
runs warcraft 3 like a dream (like it should) running wc3 on a 1500.00 costco vaio = the suck. no lag whatsoever, using all details.

The Vista index score doesn't max out at 5.0. I have an older 2.8GHz P4 desktop with a 160gb 7200RPM drive and the score is 5 something. Microsoft's way of scoring your hardware is a little shady IMO.
-
-
Nice machine by the way! -
I unplugged both batteries, ran on straight AC, and got 100% max frequency.
Hope that helps. -
Is that the receiver of a VX Revolution in one of your pics

Kebs, mind getting actual dimensions of the laptop + 9cell?
The anticipation is killing me -
Dimensions for T61P-
width 14.1x10x1.2deep at the front-1.4 at the hinge. -
its 10" with a 9cell in?
-
Seems to be the most comfortable to me so far. -
.. Currently the red trackpoint on my T41 that I'm using right now is dirty. The raised rubber portions on the trackpoint have turned from the red colour to a nice brown. This is due to the fact that I prefer to use the trackpoint over the touchpad. So what I did was ran out to buy a notebook mouse that goes well with the Thinkpad. The VX rev. seemed to be a good choice. The black/silver accents do match well.. but the build of the mouse doesn't par up the Thinkpad.
Do you find that when you move the mouse fast with the gears on, or when you move the mouse at all with the gears off, parts inside the mouse rattle? -
It looks big. How's the portability? is it heavy?
Thanks for the pics. -
