Ok, I've been doing a bunch of reading on the forums about the T61P recently and there is one thing I can't figure out. I've currently got an HP DV 9000t with the Ultra Brightview screen. Everybody on here seems to be complaining about the piss poor viewing angles of the T61P, and yet every picture and video I've seen of the viewing angle being demonstrated seems normal. Are all you Thinkpad guys just accustomed to the Flexview screens of the past or are the viewing angles really an issue? Anyone here with any experience on how they will compare to the ultra bright view screen on my HP? I do a lot of photo editing so a good screen is important to me. At the same time however I'll be getting a docking station and external LCD screen to do some of that photo work on.

The viewing angles on my R60 which has the SXGA+ are OK, but nothing great. Most laptops will never compare to a desktop monitor. The viewing angles on the FlexView are just phenomenal. Nothing else really compares to it. It's too bad it had to go. The SXGA+ is kind of dim especially if you are used to the BrightView screen. I doesn't bother me since I am not doing anything where I would need the FlexView. Cranked up it looks pretty decent, but then you get less battery life. I guess it would depend on how picky you are. I would take what you read here with a grain of salt. Some of the people, especially the newbs, tend to be a bit overly dramatic about things.
