Is it possible to upgrade the CPU from current T7500 4MB Cache 800 MHz FSB to say 8MB Cache or 1033+ MHz or say Extreme on a T61P? I might not do it right away due to price but would like to know so that I can, when the price goes down a bit.

I was also wondering if it is possible to upgrade the Video Card to 256MB? Does the card has to be from Lenovo?

    Thank you!

You can't add cache to a processor. What's there is there. Neither can you attempt to change your 800mhz bus into a 1066mhz bus.

However, you can upgrade to a Penryn CPU when they come out in the next few months. Some of them have 6MB of cache and a 1066mhz bus. Look here.

14.1" T61ps have a 128MB card with a crippled memory bus. 15.4" T61ps have 256MB. Graphics cards aren't upgradeable because they're soldered to the mainboard.

The video card is usually non upgradeable. Sometimes CPU can be changed if it shares base compatibilty with another CPU.

Yeah. Usually on notebooks like these it is not soldered on, but other notebooks may have it soldered on.

In this case, you would need a Socket P processor. Any processor labeled as a Socket P will fit.
