I have a strange issue with my bluetooth driver. My bluetooth works and I seem to have all the hardware represented in the Device Manager, but an unidentified Bluetooth Peripheral Device persists there. Would you be so kind as to post the version of the driver you are using if you do not have this issue? TIA!

In the device manager, I have:

    - Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator: 6.1.7600.16385
    - ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data rate: 5.1.2535.0

Both of these installed itself automatically when I enabled it via FN+F5. Nothing from windows update.

Thinkpad BT... is version 6.2.0.2600 so that may be where the problem stems from. Which driver did you install, since windows update didn't put it in place? Bare in mind that windows update runs during hardware detection in Windows 7.

I fear I may have to fdisk to resolve. I've installed a persistent driver that will not allow me to completely remove it. I will setup a dual boot Win7/Win7 allowing the second to use Windows update before I take the drastic measure. Thanks for the help...

    aadadams,
I get this "unidentified Bluetooth Peripheral", when I pair my Nokia cell phone with my T61p, and never before that.

Same with my T43 2668, everything installed perfectly including the Bluetooth module. It was 32-bit.

I have a windows mobile phone paired with my laptop. Maybe I will delete it, and see what happens.

The problem is ongoing for me. Deleting my phone did not help. Hopefully, Lenovo releases a BT driver for Win7 intended for the T61p. Otherwise, I fear we're stuck...

Before starting the thread, I did search, at length I might add. Your post is completely counter productive. You could have simply posted a link to the post to which you're referring. If you don't have anything productive to say please refrain from posting in my threads! If USC's season has you in a bad mood I can understand?

The following post that you so brazenly refer to does not resolve the issue. As a matter of fact, I have been using that driver since day one.

My bluetooth works fine as far as I have tested in anyway. My problem is an entry in the device manager that is not recognized by "ANY" driver offered by Lenovo, including the latest which I am running now!

@melwad and others that have this problem,
This resolved it for me: Delete the partnership between your phone and the Windows 7 computer. Initiate the pairing from the computer rather than the phone. Once this is done you should get an 8 digit code to enter into the phone or other peripheral. Enter this number into the device and the pairing will commence and drivers will be installed and viola NO MORE DRIVERLESS BLUETOOTH PERIPHERALS! YMMV, but I'm glad to report that I have eliminated the problem.

Problem is solved and looks like the thread is going OT(posts have been deleted), so its now closed.

FYI, there is a ignore user feature(that hides the ignored user posts) available in the UserCp. I suggest that some of you look into that feature.
