Ok I read somewhere on here that the nice IPS Flexview panels used to be part of the offerings at Lenovo: Is it the T61P that has that nice screen? Do they all have them or was it an option? No clue what the specs are but for a decent office machine with a great screen I don't mind an older model. Do they still sell them somwhere ?

    Thanks
PS: Unless an nice 12.1 AAFS screen shows up somewhere, the infamous matte Boe Hydis ...

They do still sell IPS laptop screens but i think only in 4:3 for ThinkPads, like you can put a QXGA screen on the T60p because it's 4:3. The T61p sadly (i can attest) has a mediocre-average screen, people say it's dim but i think it isn't, it's just that if you don't get the viewing angles jusssst right, it looks like a dogpile..

T60p is what you are after with the nice screen, the T61p just has a TN LCD.

If you're just doing general usage stuff, the T60 isn't much of a drop off performance wise. 3GB of memory, which is the max on the T60, is plenty for most uses. Your options for buying one are probably eBay, CL and the marketplace forum on ThinkPads.com. You'll probably pay a bit more on ThinkPads, but they tend to be much more honest than eBay or CL, which has a lot of value when buying a used notebook.
