Hey guys what's up!
I have a T61p with the Quadro FX 570M card. Sometimes when I played a game like Unreal 2004 for a while, the game would shut down and spit me back into Windows, with a message that the video card driver had stopped responding and was restarted successfully.
I looked around and realized that the driver on Lenovo's website is quite old, it's Forceware 101.45
I looked on laptopvideo2go.com and found a newer LAPTOP driver that works with this laptop and is WHQL certified and installs correctly and everything.
The driver I found can be downloaded here:

Anyways, this driver solved the gaming problem I was having. I have not benchmarked to see if it is faster but I'm not really worried because my games run fast so far.
Has anyone else installed different drivers than the ones on Lenovo's website? What has worked for you?
So far this driver seems to have solved the problem, I wonder why Lenovo doesn't have this version up for download?

should be useing these or 163.44

Ah, just wondering, how did you determine that version was the one to use?
I notice that site has a bunch of versions and I tried a couple of the latest ones but they didn't detect my card as a supported card, or if I used the "have disk" option, my card wasn't on the list when using that INF file.
I'll try the version you linked to and see if it lets me install it... -
You just have to focus on the things i circled. Normally the most recent drivers on the right are up to date, but in this case they aren't. Thats why its worth looking in the forums under the 160 section for the most recent drivers. Again they have operating they are for, so make sure you pay attention to that before you try to install them. Make sure you download the drivers and the MODDED INF FILE extract the files into a folder and then drag the modded inf file to that folder and it will ask if you want to replace the existing one and do it.

ahh interesting.
I tihnk there is an even newer driver than the one you just suggested.
I thikn the mistake I made when I tried before was I downloaded the driver and didn't put the modded inf in there.
EDIT: Never mind, there was a version 165 but the modded inf doesn't appear to have an entry for the quadro 570. -
Just make sure everything else works properly, like the video re-displaying properly when you close the lid. At least back in the day, non-OEM video drivers sometimes introduced more problems then they solved.
