I'm currently looking at the following setup for a T61P (can't get the vostro for this price with the same specs)

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9300 (2.5GHz 800MHz 6MBL2)1
    Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic12
    15.4 WSXGA+ TFT
NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL)
    1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)8
    UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
    100GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm4
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim5
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG10
    Integrated Bluetooth PAN
    9 cell Li-Ion Battery60
    6459: Express - 1 Yr Depot Warranty

    $1170.
I'll add my own 2GB extra memory then I should have what I want

Is it worth it to spend the extra money on the Wireless N?

I have a copy of Windows XP Pro that I'm not using, will install that. Or should I get Vista Business? ($50 upgrade)

Any coupons that I could use to bring the price down?

Good config, considering you'll get more RAM yourself! :) The Wireless N and OS depends on your needs. Look here for a comparison of various Windows Vista versions. No idea about any coupons. Search around, maybe.

Where did you find that deal? I went through the Lenovo site w/ 25% off and the same laptop was going for $1,430...

Try coupons, there are 15% off ones I think as far as I can see.

Wow thanks for the link to check the differences... There's no need to get Vista Business, home premium is good enough for me.

If you can go through one of Lenovo's member program's like if you have VISA card you can get another 15% (?) off. If you are a student you may get a better discount as well. I used the VISA discount + the coupon code USXTHINKMADNESS to get a very nice discount.
