    Hi,

I think i'm gonna buy a T61P with a Quadro 570M gfx card. I will use it to play somes games and, since vista is crab for gamers, i think i'm gonna follow the guide on this forum and install XP on it. Does it make a big difference from XP ?? Do you think this is the best choice for me ??

Now I've heard it all. Vista is crap. Vista is slow. Vista sucks. Vista tastes like crab.

Not worth it just for games. Even without Sp1 vista wasn't much slower than XP ion gaming.

Actually, crab isn't bad -- as long as it's fresh.

    Blue crab is my favorite.

Actually, I have a T61p with two hard drives (one standard internally and one in the CD insert space). I boot up normally with Ubuntu on one hard drive. But, whenever I feel lke gaming, I boot up on the other hard drive into XP and go at it.

Yes, Vista is crab and Linux is crab.

XP is still king of gaming.

I bought mine loaded with XP after advice from these forums.

I've been playing COD4 with high everything... and it runs so well.

Audiosurf is absolutely beautiful too, and I recommend it to everyone who wants some eye-candy in a chill-out package

    I like crab!

XP works better for gaming but Vista will take over so you might as well get Vista it works fine.

VISTA works quite fine.played so many games on it.not slow at all.in my opinion it works better than XP.I believe if you give vista enough hardware strength it will defeat xp as xp is an old OS and sure Microsoft didn't update its windows market just for AERO....you can switch long back to win 98 if you feel older is less resource consuming.go for VISTA if you are going to buy a high end machine like t61p.

    +1.

I'm tired of people saying vista is crap. If you have a good system like a t61/p with enough ram I don't see an overall performance reason to go with xp. I've been running vista64 playing all sorts of games with no problem.
