I've seen in the Dell forums much angst over Samsung vs LG screens for the WSXGA option. The Samsungs are generally grainier and lower quality. I'm not sure, but I think Lenovo uses the same suppliers for their screens. Have there been any issues about screen quality?

    Thanks

I haven't checked which manufacturer made my lcd, but I am satisfied with the wsxga display on my t61p. It's quite bright (unless you use it outdoors), no dead pixels, although some light bleeding could be seem at the bottom of the screen.

There were some issues with the screens a while back. I am not sure if people are still complaining about their screens though.

My new T61 has a 15.4" Samsung WSXGA+ screen and it looks fine to me. Sufficiently bright and crisp with even backlighting and no pixel anomalies. This display compares favorably to the Dell Inspirons and Latitudes that I also use regularly. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your replies guys. I just purchased a T61P w/ WSXGA, I'll keep my fingers crossed. I went ahead and sprung for the onsite warranty. At least if I have to have it serviced I won't have to deal w/ the depot.
