I jus tbought a new webcam from logitech and after I can not get it to show proper video. I mean it works the the picture is full of distorsions. I thought this was because of the webcam but them I tried my broters hecules webcam and that behaved the same way. I tried all of the 3 USB prots on the notebook but all of them have the same result. I uninstalled any codecs that I installed but to no result.
    Any thoughts?

Dood, i too had the same problem, it could be because you have been using two programs to acess the webcam at the same time. I suggest you un-install yahoo messenger and do a clean reinstall., this did solve my problem.

If this doesnt work for you, please download install the latest drivers for your webcam. I am sure this would solve ur issue.

Does it still have that effect when you turn the size down to small?

Nope it does not have any effect. I opened both programs one at a time so the problem does not come from runing both at the same time.
    Any more idea?

Try Logitech's website for a newer webcam driver. ;)

I don't think it is a Logitech model webcam though. Would that matter?

I see. For some reason I assumed he was talking about the integrated webcam.

In that case, I would also recommend looking on the Logitech website for the latest webcam driver.

Yeah but it's doing the same thing with my brothers hercules webcam wich is a differetn manufacturer and it works on my bros dell d830. So I don't think it's a driver issue.

Hy. I am still facing the same problems and I am convinced that they are software based. Do you guys think you can help me. I don't to do a fresh reinstall.

why dont you reinstall the driver to see if it works and then report back. at least then you can narrow it down.

I already did that a couple of times. Plus I ruled that out because I am facing this problem with 4 different webcams for different companies. So I think that it is something with my windows installation or drivers or maybe video codecs.

the only other thing that i can think of is that your webcam only recognizes 2.0 and your usb ports are only installed at 1.1. you will need to find usb 2.0 drivers and reinstall
