    T61P with MTRON in Ultrabay

    Hi all,

    Could anyone help me :)
    Here is the problem I am facing.

    I have a mtron mobi 32Go in my T61p and have just purchased another one for the ultrabay. my wallett is crying, I know :(

    Although matrix storage is up to date, I found that hdtune give me 91M/s for the primary mtron and only about 70M/s in the ultrabay.
    Both ssd have an access time of 0,1ms

    It seems that ultrabay is limiting the stuff. hdtune tells me that I am using udma 5 although udma 6 is supported.

    Does any one know how to troubleshoot this issue to get the same throughput on both ssd ?

    I know my dell dbase was considered a usb external disk and was limited by the bus it was on, I am guessing yours would also be slowed down by the external bus, whatever it is.

    I was under the impression that the Ultrabay worked at full speed.

    I was thinking later this year go the SSD route (probably 32 GB) and place another drive on the Ultrabay for storage space but this Ultrabay limitation may be a problem if I need to put the page file or other regularly accessed files on the Ultrabay drive.
