I have a T61p 6459-A12. I want to install the Intel 1GB Turbo Memory into it. Is anyone able to assist me in determining where this module fits into the system, so that I can confirm whether or not I will have to remove any other component already installed in order to install the Intel 1GB Turbo Memory?
I have read that it goes into the same slot as the WWAN module. I'm fairly certain that my unit does not have the WWAN module (as I believe if it did there would be an LED status light underneath the LCD screen inbetween the Bluetooth and Number Lock light - which my unit does not have). Does this definately mean that I should have a free spot in my unit to instal the Intel 1GB Turbo Memory?

Got a 1GB Intel Turbo Memory module from eBay for $15.00 USD posted.

Found this in the Hardware Maintenance Manual, number 23 is the module:

honestly, i wouldn't bother - turbo memory actually reduces performance in many situations

Maybe this will help. Here are pics of my Turbo Memory on my T500.
My guess it is similar to the T61p.
Attached are the instructions from the T500 manual.
    Looks fairly easy.

Joey, do you find that Turbo memory helps? Been kind of curious to pick it up for my thinkpad.

No, the turbo memory card on the T61p goes below the CPU heatsink. The arrow you're pointing at on the T61p corresponds to the Universal WideBand card.

That is good to know for twr7cx.
I looked at the T61P Manual and it does not have a diagram or explanation where the Turbo card is located. http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/42x3546_03.pdf My T500 Manual does show a picture, which I attached to my previous post.

I don't know if Turbo Memory helps or not. I bought my machine with it installed, so I have nothing to compare it to. I don't know how to disable Turbo Memory to do some comparisons. But my system is very fast, especially with internet browsing. My system feels very fast and I never notice any slowness ever. Boot up times take about 50 seconds. From some other threads I have seen, 50 seconds is probably about average.
But this is also the most powerful laptop I have ever owned, so I don't how much Turbo Memory may be helping.

They do have the same internals. Really, there's little change between the T60 wide screen, T61, T61p, T500, and W500.

Where is it? Can't tell from your pic where the card is located.
    Notice any difference?

Looks a lot different than the 2G card on my T500.
