Please post your thoughts on the LCD quality and also the make you recieved i.e LG or Samsung. I am thinking of getting the T61p due to the fact that I will be also gaming on it and the 570m will do just fine for my needs. I just am a bit worried about the LCD screen quality after reading all the not-so-great WUXGA screen quality. I posted this thread on thinkpads and got pretty good reviews so lets see here. Thanks.

    LG.
mine seems great. bright as hell. minor light leakage at the bottom visible only in certain situations. one dead pixel visible only on completely black screens.

but why are you getting the quadro card for gaming?!

Because the 570m is like an 8600GT with GDDR3 and should be awesome at gaming. Plus, IBM doesn't really offer any next gen DX10 GPUs yet. :(

yes after seeing all the 3D benchmarks the 570M really seems like a bad boy and fits nicely in my budget. Good to know Lenovo is churning out LG screens for the 15.4" WSXGA+.

I have the LG screen with my T61p. I love it, it's really fast and I'm able to play all of my games at the screen's native resolution which looks great, detailed and smooth. I am amazed that I can do this on a laptop.

I got the LG. My only quibble is that it could use a touch more contrast, but on the whole I'm quite pleased with it.

The 8400s and 8600s more than qualifies as next gen. As you pointed out, they are DX10 cards, so duh :p . Plus, if I recall, they are the first to have embedded purevideo encoders, so they will be better than the 8800s at video playback. Maybe you were meaning to say "high end" next DX10 GPUs?

I have an LG, i think the screen is great. I think the build quality of my t61p is as good as any other thinkpad i have owned. the only thing i would tell you is you might want to go with the 9cell battery. my 6cell seems to drain pretty quick

Mine is 2 weeks old and apart from being a "T61" (not a "p") and an unusual battery drain, it works great.
