Does anyone know where to order WXGA (1280x800) instead of WSXGA+ (1680x1050)?

Also, is the 3 year/mail-in warranty neccesary? It's only $100, which is reasonable for a $1200+ laptop, but i've heard these Thinkpads have above average reliability.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Imagine: Year two and the lcd back light goes kaput. 500-1000 bucks..... that 100 bucks now is not so bad, eh.

I don't think Lenovo would release a workstation notebook with such a low resolution as WXGA.

WSXGA+ is just right for a 15.4" notebook anyways.

Just right for you, not me. I'm used to 1280x1024 on a 17" 5:4 display. Besides text and webpages being too small for my tastes and scaling bugs, WSXGA+ gaming is only for cutting edge GPUs, so i'd have to lower the resolution, resulting in mushiness.

I might settle with this super high resolution though. How does this setup sound?

    15.4" WSXGA+
    T7300
    2x1GB
    100GB 7200RPM
    Dual-Layer DVD burner
    Vista Home Premium
    Quadro FX 570M (256MB)
    3945 Wi-Fi
    9 Cell Battery
    3 year mail-in warranty

    ~1430 USD shipped
