T61p Availability Update

FYI,

I was able to get some updated info regarding the T61p. The 14" and 15.4" were removed due to lcd availablity constraints as mentioned before. But, I have been told that the 14" model will be available again on Thursday, 8/23/2007. But, the 15.4" does not have a projected availability yet. I hope they get this resolved soon . . .

 

for people like you, I hope they do. The 15.4 inch t61p is a really nice lappy. August 23 is only a day away, so i hope you can wait that long

That info sounds correct. I was able to order a 14.1 T61P and have built and shipped in 2 days. They must be putting it back on the website soon.

 

What are the primary differences between the t61 and t61p? Thanks. Unfortunatley, I can't look it up on the website because it doesn't exist

hey guys, the 14.1" t61p is available at the lenovo website!!!! it says, shipping 1-2 weeks!

 

that's estimated...don't pay attention to that...well don't take it TOO seriously as lenovo has been known to push their dates back, at least in certain cases.

 

Heh wuzer - I've been seeing alot of 1-2 week parts coming in 4 or 5 days too. Alot of others, though, have been out to 4+ weeks, so...

 

I ordered on 8/12 and lenovo had a ESD of 9/14. I hope they won't push back the date!!!!!

 

ugh, I can't decide if I want to go ahead and place an order or not.

Me and this MBP are just not getting along, and I'd like to get a replacement asap.

 

I want my T61P. I have an ESD of 9/3 so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, it looks like the whole site is down now. I was putting mine together for the past two nights and trying to get a good price on it, and right when I was about to place order, it went down.

You have to use the link in the shipment thread to get to it. I've not found a way to get to it via the website.

 

notice the screen is the 14.1 inch and the graphic card is the 128mb.. those parts have been available most of the time anyway.its the 15.4inch screen that is taking a while for some unknown reason from lenovo

 

Click on the mobile workstation option, not the 14.1" option.

 

Still no 15.4" t61p today

 

i don't think it will be out for awhile.

 

Why don't they just update another series since there are gonna be more new Processors out. I think Lenovo is going to, sooner or later

I ordered 14.1" and it shipped in 6 days... they must have plenty of 14.1" screens/128MB Quadros.

i've read on the other thread that most of their t61p has been shipped. maybe lenovo will bring back the 15.4" on their site soon.. yehey!

 

You are absolutely right. May is when I needed a replacement and Lenovo CS informed me that the T61p would be available in just a few days if I could wait for it. Had two different CS reps state that they had me on a list and as soon as the 61P became available they would call me right away.
A few days, a few weeks, a few months, what's the difference? Lenovo's Lies are legendary.


For those of you in need of a performance workstation/notebook, there are way better machines on the market which are actually available, from ethical companies who keep their promises who's customer service reputation is not in the toilet (feel free to reference any source, you'll find that Lenovo's CS is rampant with complaints since IBM sold the company to China.)

I believe they just had a problem with their ordering system in early june through july. i ordered a t61p through the CA education portal friday afternoon and sunday morning it was shipped! when i ordered friday afternoon, a rep even called me to confirm my order.

 

T61p (workstation) ordered 8/18, shipped 8/24. I think that it is available.

 

No offense, but I'm having a hard time believing that. Mine was ordered 7/22 and it still has not shipped. Did you order on 7/18 or 8/18 and what did you order and receive?

Yes, 14" models are shipping fast. 15.4" are very backed up unfrotunately.

Just refuting MonsterMaxx's ridiculous claims and exaggerations.

Lenovo is getting some updates on the website. I suppose

 

Jamesm11, did you have to do anything special to order this? I called CDW asking what "Customer Specific" meant and he said that these were made specifically for a customer, like Adobe, and that they'd call to verify you worked for that company. Did you have any problems ordering it?

Also, does that model of that ExpressCard or the Smart Card Slot?

I was just on the Lenovo site and there are T61p 15.4" with WSXGA+ instead of WUXGA.

 

yes, the T61p 15.4'' has back with the WSXGA screen and 256 Quadro card
along with a great deal

 

now we just need the wxga+ back on the 14"!!!

 

Indeed, and I just jumped on it. Now let's see which gets to me first, the WUXGA or the the WSXGA+ one!

funny...i ordered a t61 but it came badged as a t61p...i guess it's because i upgraded to the 570m through the education site. oh, they took out the UWB in the t61p plate too.
