I'm not sure if anyone can help but I'm off to Europe in a few weeks and to use Skype on my T61p I figured I'd buy a Plantronics Voyager 520 bluetooth headset. As far as I know I have a bluetooth card preinstalled in my T61p, but when I try to pair the headset it is not found. I realize this may be a dumb question, but do I need the usb adapter for this? I confess to being bluetooth ignorant, but my understanding was that the bluetooth card should be able to pair up on its own without the need for any additional dongles or adapters.
    I'd really appreciate any advice.
    Thanks,
    Mel

The bluetooth is an option built in...there are no external adapters. The antenna is inside the unit, assuming you did purchase the option. If you hit Fn+F5 it should pull up a menu that allows you to turn the bluetooth antenna on. When on, the bluetooth logo should show up with the other icons on the screen casing (wifi, power, hdd, etc.). If you take a look under (I'm assuming Vista) 'control panel', then 'network and internet', you should have an option for 'bluetooth devices'. From there you can set up new connections, etc. I suppose if the fevice is not installed those options will not be available.

    Good luck!
