hey guys,
I brought my computer home from school for thanksgiving yesterday, and have forgotten the charger at school. Here at home, my families been though a few different laptops, and have a few chargers left over. SO, is it possible to use these chargers on my computer without any adverse affects? and while we are on the topic, is voltage all that matters in a charger?
I believe all the ones i have at home are undervolted compared to a T61p (If i remember correctly, my T61p is at 20-21 V, the closest i have is a 19.5 from Sony. I didn't want to try before checking with you guys first.

Go by the total watts and as long as they fit the connector. Multiply the volts by the amps, V X A and make sure that the watts is equall to or greater than what yours uses. The T61P should be a 72W or higher.

Thanks a ton

I think you'd be better off picking up a universal one that has a tip that fits the T60 series and selectable voltage/etc. Plugging in another vendor's adapter seems like a crapshoot at best. That being said, if the voltage, amperage, and tip is the same, you are probably fine. My Dell M65 90watt looks like it will fit, but the connector has a slightly thicker barrel than the T series and it won't. Pretty frustrating to have to carry two BRICKS
for two 90watt laptops that I generally only use one at a time...
