what fps did you get on bioshock? or what were settings at?
-
Settings were at 1680x1050 on all of them. Just the basic "high" settings.
Not sure what the fps is. Looks good. -
-
A few more screen shots of demos I down loaded from Steam.
Peggle Extreme
HL2 Portal
HL2 Lost Coast
Lost Coast looks awesome! Crystal smooth. -
Here Are Some Of Mine on my NVS 140, All of em run at Native Res 1280x800 resized to save bandwidth, i know they are all mostly old games but they play perfectly.
edit: Ive taken the shots down because its putting a pretty good load on my server -
Nice Screen shots
-
Nice screenshots!
I have a couple of questions:
are you guys running Vista or XP? If Vista, what edition (Business, Ultimate, etc.) of Vista?
HawkEye: are you using the stock Lenovo drivers for the NVS 140M? Or are you using the modded ones from LaptopVideo2go.com?
I've looked at the drivers available from LaptopVideo2go.com but still can't figure out which version I should download for my T61 (NVS 140M). -
Im running XP with the Lenovo Drivers i got from system update, i tried the modded drivers but they were too unstable for my liking.
-
I'm running XP Pro.
-
I installed the Crysis DEMO from NVIDIA. 7 out of 10 playable at 800x600 objects high, everthing else low.
I didn't install the recommended Crysis Driver. Probably needs it.
-
Nice screens. I'm interested in seeing more screens and results using the normal Quadro drivers.
Crysis at 800x600... that means the picture above is actual size. It looks tiny on my screen, but nice. -
RES is 800x600 full screen. I shrunk down the screen shot to make it easier to view.
I upgraded my drivers to the newest NVIDIA drivers 174. series... Big playability performance for this game.
With the new driver mod I tested the Half Life 2 Lost Coast Video tester and scored almost 64 fps average.
Here is a screen shot:
Lost Coast runs great on this! Crysis must have some kind of problems with the way it was programmed because it stumps alot of systems. -
The UT3 Demo runs great in 1680x1050
-
I've Ran Crysis before, i was able to run with stock drivers 1280x800 all settings on low (still beautiful) and it got around 30 -35 FPS, in cutscenes though it would crawl. Crysis like SupCom is "playable" on many machines its just you need one that cost your soul to max it.
-
these look really nice. I'm sure the nvs 140 will serve me fine since all i might be playing is halo, cod4, and ut3.
-
Nice.
What tool are you using to get the screen captures? -
-
After updating drivers to to 174.16 with the GeForce 9600GT overdrive FX 570m code mod, Crysis is like a new game. Huge improvement in playability.
I'm not sure how to get a FPS display but I tried out these settings and they worked very well.
Settings 1400x1050
Radar Bay
Cloak Engaged
Bay battle
Cut Scenes look good too. -
Portal Slice demo at 1680x1050, HIGH, 4xAA.
Very smooth.
The 174.16 mod is working good. -
COD4 DEMO!!! One of my favorite games. (Have it for PS3)
Looks great! Plays GREAT!
Loaded it with these settings as a test and had no problems.
Game Play Shots
-
One more of Portal Slice.
-
Audio Surfer
Everything MAX. Trippy fun game.
-
COD4 all the bells and whistlles on MAX. 1400x1050. Plays well
-
Everything MAX at 1680x1050 Bioshock game play screens.
-
How did BioShock play with everything maxed out?
-
Looks promising. I am thinking of getting the T60p with the FX 570M 256mb
To get FPS in Crysis hit ~ to bring up the console then type r_DisplayInfo = 1. Google ftw. Just type in something like " game name console commands" or " game name show fps" into google. Please get back to us on this -
7.4 out of 10 IMO. -
I'll look it up.
However IMO Crysis is one of the toughest games to display at full resolutions. People spend thousands of dollars builidng a desktop "RIG" then they have to become coding experts to properly tune the game to play at max.
I'm going to look up the FPS gadget for Crysis and get some more info out soon. -
I ran the command line and here is some FPS info.
With the specs posted above of 1400x1050 on Medium it varied in numbers.
Score of 17.7 fps with bracket (FPS) goes higher. not sure how to read it.
Same scenery at 800x600 at Medium settings 26.2 fps
Is there a RES and setting you want me to run? -
Have to say, Crysis on the 14.1" T61P runs alright at 800x600. I had every setting on medium with no Antialias thing on.
COD4 is great with 800x600. I can set everything to HIGH and 2x anti alias and it was very smooth. Runs a bit faster with everything to Medium. -
Well, Crysis isn't really a good bench mark if the game doesn't run a steady 60 fps maxed. Other games could run perfect even with Crysis jogging at 30 fps at lower res. Anyway, if the FX 570 is really pretty much an 8600 GT in disguise I should be fine. Thanks.
-
Yes Crysis is a tough one to display.
I'm going to start to post movies up.
Bioshock original settings at 1440x900 everything on.

please post some screen shots when you can. -
-
Thanks.
When I have some time I'll put another up. -
I added a HL2 Lost Coast Video. It's the end of the Lost Coast VIDEO GPU Benchmark. My T61p scored about 64FPS.
These videos look ok but they lose alot of the quality during the file conversion from FRAP video. I'm just learning how to do this. I'll figure it out.

I'm now using Apple quicktime code to convert the FRAP videos. They look better and sound better.

Running the new 174.30 FX 570m drivers and game play in Crysis is the best I have been able to get at 1440x900

FRAPS program slows down the FPS some but it's free to make these movies. Actual FPS and game play is slightly better without FRAPS running.Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
Are you using 64-bit Windows XP or Vista now, or why do you have 4GB of RAM? Because as far as I know Win XP Pro 32-bit support only 3GB max.
BTW very good thread, difference in performance when using modded drivers is impressive. I didn't know about it before I've read it here, thanks -
I'm using XP Pro 32bit.
This is what my system is reporting:
Just a hair over 3GB.
I've read that the Windows OS will only show 2.5 to 3.5 in use depending on chipset.
I have Intel PM965 chipset.
I have also read that XP 32bit doesn't report the full 4GB but it is being used by other devices that allocate their own RAM without telling XP.
I also did the 3GB INF Switch mod and it didn't work with 3DMark06. Has memory reference issues. It does work well with applications coded to maximize the 3GB switch.
Hopefully XP SP3 will address maximizing 4GB of RAM. -
It's not hair over, it is 3x1024MB. I doubt it depends on chipset.
Devices allocating own RAM? What can that be beside integrated graphic cards?
There is already the public testing (I think even final if no major bugs will be found) version of SP3, have you tried that? I cannot, I have different language version of windows and don't want to mix it. -
I havn't tried it. Shouldn't be much longer till an official XP SP3 is released.
UT3 at 1440x900 everthing on max settings.

Using FRAPS to record game play slows down overall FPS by about 20 FPS!Still looks ok.

edited post to show in thread views of movies.
The coding from FRAPS to Quicktime to Youtube loses a huge amount of FPS with Fraps and overall video quality.
Looks way better running live. -
Since upgrading to a new hdd I cleaned up all the GPU drivers that I tried out.
It seems like the best drivers for stability/image quality/physics are the stock driver from Lenovo.com and the 174.31.
I'm able to play all high on lower resolutions and game play is very good. Crysis a very fun game when the graphic settings are decent and acclerated grahics mix with the game play.
Here is a screen shot near the end of the Crysis DEMO.

sorry to add on
just curious here , now waiting t61p with 4gb ram come
I want to know is it possible to run COD4 , BF2 in full max settings?
which resolution to choose is the best?
next while running the game
is it possible can also runnning 3 IE browser , outlook express , mirc and msn behind?
or better soley just the game only to avoid lagging ? -
I do have COD4 DEMO.
It can be ran and played on lower settings. Also I ran FRAPS with the DEMo. Slowed down the FPS.
Probably best just to run it alone.
The CPU probably deals with multi application running.
I ran IE and FRAPS before while gaming. -
