Whenever I use CAD/CAE programs like ANSYS or Solidworks where I need to use my mouse to rotate 3d objects, there will be a medium-high pitch squeal from the left of the keyboard. Most probably the GPU area. The squeal stops when I stop rotating the object. It also happens when I run games. I've already gotten my motherboard replaced due to poor GPU area heat transfer. Any ideas what's causing this?

I wonder if it has anything to do with this:

I know about that, but just wondering if there's a fix to it, or am I just literally waiting for it to die?

I had (/have) the exact same problem with my T61p w/ FX570M. Could never solve it, no matter what kernel/drivers/settings I tried. Eventually upgraded to a W510.
The only thing that did have a slight impact, and could reduce the hiss a little bit was underclocking the GPU memory (from 700 to like 200-300 MHz).
