Are there any aftermarket or OEM options for a WUXGA (1920x1200) LCD that is brighter than the original. This screen is great resolution wise, and I will have this laptop for a while, but I have always wished the screen was brighter. Anyone have some input?

there are the LG and Samsung version that Lenovo used in the T61p at that resolution, people say that the LG is better than the Samsung version. Otherwise you would have to get Glossy display screens, i am not sure if they will work.

Its not super dim @ full (Which it is always left at) but its dimmer than I would like esp compared to other laptops, and I for one refuse to ever buy a laptop with a glossy screen. I hate them with the firey passion of a thousand suns. Too much glare, and much harder to keep clean. If I could overdrive the CCFL on this one without causing damage I would, but I think a replacement would be a better option, I just dont think one exists. Am I stuck with this till I buy a new laptop, and just deal with it?

WUXGA resolution with the TN panel are rare now, and you probably not going to find anything that is going to make your jaw drop. So if i am you just forget about the whole Panel changing episode and use as it is.

There is a place called ScreenTek that you can take a look at. I know that at least one member of this board used them and they were pretty happy. Not sure how good they are or if they can accommodate your WUXGA screen. Maybe check them out. But my feeling is that the cost won't be worth it. You might be better off just selling your current laptop and getting something else, if it bothers you that much.
