A part fell out of my T61p while adjusting my keyboard (see attached JPG).

I had the keyboard and palm rest off.

Any suggestions on what it is and where it belongs?

    Thanks in advance.

Well on my x61 that part looks like it belongs to the front of the laptop.

Good ole' George Washington is looking at the piece like "hey, who's the new guy." ;)

    I kid. I kid. :p

For some reason, that piece looks like something I've seen under my keyboard once. Like under the keys. Possibly the spacebar.

The pictured spring should fit into the rollcage right in front of the RAM slots under the palm rest.

Dunno if that is clear enough but it's the two silver things.

Thanks much! I cracked open a peer's T61p to confirm and the location noted is where it belongs. Appreciate the help.

It just acts as a ground between parts.
