    Greetings Notebookreview Lenovo owners,

yes, I'm still lurking around. I have a quick question.

I purchased my T61p with the 32bit Vista Home edition and I did a clean install to xp and it was all good.. but now I've decided I'd like to play with the 64bit Vista Ultimate. Would I have any issues with the base system if I did a clean install of the 64bit Vista Ultimate or do I have to stick with the 32bit version since thats what I ordered. I know it's a silly question, but I just don't know and thought I'd bring it to the pro's.

    thanks in advance,
    graVie

You can install it with no problem.

I just went from Lenovo supplied 32 bit Vista to MSDN Vista 64 and that did not work at all.

Since you ordered 32 bit, Lenovo is not going to supply you with 64 bit materials.

I'd recommend that you look at Stallen's Clean install guide, as there is a technique for saving you activation data. You would then need a 64 bit upgrade anytime distribution.

Nice choice on Vista Ultimate 64.

    Thanks Renee!

As always this board rox! I know there are a lot of contributers, but you Arkit.. and ZaZ always have the answer it seems. Thanks to you all and I'm working to be an answer guy and less of a question guy.

    Best regards,
    Jim

You have the makings, Jim. Questions are openings and in their own way, they are quite powerful.
