hi, im not very savvy with laptops, i have a hp dv2000, im planning to upgrade my laptop to a thinkpad, there a lot talk about t61p and t400, what are the difference. which is better
-
Major Differences: T400 gives you LED screen and WiMax? That new Intel 5100/5300 technology. I think it's part of the whole Montevina platform (Centrino2 vPro)
Longer battery life too due to LED screen.
The LED screen is, easily, enough of a selling point to buy the new model. -
LED backlit
Discrete graphic with hybrid switching
Ultrabay for extra hard drive
3G built-in - with GPS for free (no SIM needed)
I know people with the T61p, and think it's great as well. It all depends is you want a 14" or 15" laptop. -
It all depend on your needs. The T61p have a very powerful GPU video card. Meant to be used on CAD applications, although it can run most newer high-end games.
T400 gives you more battery life. The W500 is the successor of the T61p.
I'd go too with a T400 because of the LED backlight + Hybrid Graphics. -
