I wanted to replace the keyboard light on my t61p with a webcam simply so I could use the facial recognition software.... However, I cant find anywhere that the t61 series ever had web cams, I have scoured looking for the FRU to order one, and I do realize disassembling the laptop to install it would void the warranty but that doesn't really bother me. Any ideas?

How much work are you looking to do? It sounds like you just want to bolt it on?

oh no no, I know that it will require disassembly of the LCD bezel (and probably a new bezel at that for the different hole, and removal of the palm rest, keyboard and keyboard bezel to get at whatever port it is on the motherboard it plugs into, im looking for whatever the factory installs in these, if they do that is, as a replacement for the keyboard light that I never use.
