Hey guys. School is up so I have time to play some games agian on my t61p t7500 2gb ram quadro fx570m 256mb. After like an hour or so of COD4 my computer will randomly completely shut off. I feel that this is due to heat. I have no idea if this is the common RAM problem because my computer is not locking up...it is completely shutting down.

    Any ideas would be great.

I have accidental onsite warranty so warranty repair would not be an issue.

PS I am running XP pro

a mobo (they call it planar) swapout is probably necessary, lots of people have had problems with their t61p shutting down under heavy graphics and CPU load:

Near the end of the thread:

simply put, too much vdroop under load causing "rare" shutdowns. read the IBM service notice.

Have you ever cleaned out your laptops vents with compressed air? That would be a good place to start. Also download a program to check your laptop's temperature. RightMark CPU Clock Utility is a good program to do this with. See how hot your CPU gets when you play a game. That should be a good indicator if you have an overheating problem. Another thing you could do is get a notebook cooler.
