Ok guys when my t61p is on battery mode, the max brightness never seems to be able to be as bright as when it's plugged in. Even if I put it on high performance and crank up the brightness, the moment I plug it in, it becomes noticeably brighter.

It seems like the brightness is throttled or something on this during battery mode. I never experienced this before with any other laptop.

Anyone know a way of getting around it?

Okay I had the same proble to change it you have to go into the BIOs and there is a setting for the display change it to High and you should be set.

Either change the BIOS settings or use the ThinkVantage software:

ThinkVantage>ThinkPad Configuration>LCD>Brightness when running on battery> Set it to "high" instead of "normal".
