I did not want to waste a thread just for this question, but I think it's important. I'm going to call Lenovo today at lunch but I just wanted to check with other people that have owned/dealt with Lenovo more than I have. The speakers on my T61p that I just received have problems. The right speaker is great, but the left one is where the problem lies. It is completely off. Sounds like a blown car speaker, and absolutely horrible compared to the right one (using the left/right control to check). Anybody have any suggestions? Is there any way I could send it back to Lenovo and have them just replace the speaker but not touch any of my data or anything? Also, I put 4 gigs of ram in there, if I do send it back to get it fixed should I take that ram out before sending and throw in the 1GB I got stock with it?

I believe you'll want to back up your data, they may even tell you that. Don't know about the memory, they'll tell you at Lenovo though. Good luck with your speaker.

Thanks. I don't really have much to back up, but I just want to make sure I get the same laptop back (I love the screen and don't want to risk a different laptop with a bad screen  )

Take the hard drive out before sending it off. They don't need it.
