Wow.
I've been running on a 13.5" Vaio. It's too tiny 1280x1024.
I wonder if WSXGA+ 1680×1050 is preferrable to WUXGA 1920x1200.
I currently have a Nice Dell 24" flat panel LCD WUXGA 1920x1200.
I wouldn't want to shrink it anymore than it already is.
That basically means I think I need to get the 1680x1050. Which is like the 4:3 of the 20" Dell 1600x1200 flatpanel LCD I have, only Widescreen?
I think 1920x1200 may be too small to be viewable. The only thing I can think of, is running WoW at that resolution, but I think icons on the desktop will have to be the enlarged ones, not the normal size ones. I think 12 point font may start getting really hard to read at that point as well.
All that to say I'm RELIEVED I can order the one that comes up faster and not wait til JULY. EW.
New target date= 6/26. After that? Forget it. No point hoping.
-
Bah 6/26 is too far away. I'm hoping for the 14th or 15th. After that I'll start looking at the HPs seriously. Then again I just want to know when the 15" with 140M will come out. COME ON LENOVO it's not that hard. You already have plenty 140Ms and you have the 15" so put them together.
-
Kebs, I have a WSXGA+ 15" right now and it's not too bad to read. Sometimes I wish it were WSXGA though. I wouldn't go WUXGA unless you like sitting really close. Either that or you have eagle vision.
-
rofl.
why you want the wsxga? u want more desktop? -
Sometimes I wish text on web sites was bigger. I hate having to use Ctrl+ to enlarge the text so it's more comfortable. Most times I don't bother, like reading this form, but for reading big articles or if I want to relax than I enlarge it. The problem is that even enlarging the text in firefox causes odd scaling issues.

Ohhhh schnap the Dell Latitude 830 has a dedicated graphics option. That's tempting. I'd rather go lenovo, but it could be weeks before there's a dedicated graphics option in the T61 15". So hard to choose. The lenovo is cheaper too assuming the 25% discount is still around.
-
but wouldnt the 570M be better than this 110M? =D...im still sticking with lenovo...dont leave the party xn =P
-
No it's the 140m the 110m is in the D820 which isn't santa rosa. If I wanted a non-santa rosa laptop I'd just get the T60 lol. I don't need the 570m though I just want a low end dedicated card in a 15". I'm pretty sure they'll release the 140m in the T61 15" when they release the T61p.
-
I think I'll wait for it though because the lowest end D830 that meets my needs is 200 more than the equivalent T61.
-
Yeah, thats actually the D820, which is what the D830 replaced. I have no idea why dell put a link to the D820 under the D830 option. And 570M>140M>110M any day.
-
Anyone think it'll be released tomorrow?
-
The t61p? I do!
-
This is one of the funiest thread I ever read.
Happy posting! -
-
Yay, it's almost time!
-
The waiting begins... again... But this time, I actually have a good feeling about this one. ( I never did for the earlier ones.)
-
Would it already have been released by now? Should we just wait for tommorow? Their front page still talks about the July 9th sale, so maybe they are on central time.
-
So what are the major improvements to the T61p? Anything spectacular or overly amazing?
-
Perhaps more significant is what is does NOT have. Namely, a decent quality LCD. No UXGA or flexview etc on that puppy.
-
this thread is silly. we ought to have this thread closed.
everyone look at the other thread with the 7/17 start date. -
