    Hi All,

Has anyone been able to update the T61p BIOs to run with PC2-6400 (800mhz) RAM? Does the T61p automatically recognize the 800 mhz bus speed?

I have one of the new intel T9500 CPUs which advertises a 800mhz FSB, but I haven't been able to find anything on the web regarding the T61p motherboard specs.

Wondering if anyone else has been able to use DDR2 800 RAM.

    Thanks!

The PM965 chipset only recognizes speeds of up to 667 mhz of RAM, meaning PC2-6400 will work, but only read at the lower speed.

Skeete - Thanks for the quick reply... and thanks for letting me know that the T61p is based on intel's PM965 chipset.

    Intel PM965 Product Details
Looks like you're completely correct. The PM965 chipset tops out at 667 MHz RAM.

Wonder if there are any overclocking possibilities to realize a 800 MHz bus speed? PM965 does support a 800 MHz FSB...

I don't know about the new BIOS update. I do think that it would be great if it could run the 800MHZ RAM.

EVEN if it was only during the
    AC powered mode.
