Hey guys,
i tried searching the boards and even google, but I can't find anything about some different drivers for the 14 inch version of the t61p. I have the 128mb version of the quaddro 570m and the driver from lenovo's website reduced my score to 4.2 under WEI. I'm not sure if it's just in my head or not, but my performance does seem to be weaker on Windows 7 versus when I had Vista. Anyone know of any working drivers from laptop2go?

There was no 14" version of the "p." Didn't come in that flavor. I used the Windows Update suggestion and then installed the Lenovo version. Had to do that manually. Like you, my weakest factor is the video for desktop. Gaming would also be a function of DRAM and the video card so that scored high. W764 is not remarkably faster in operation, only in bootup and shutdown. Seems to shutdown that any error messages when shutting down you can't even see as its so quick. Some hae complained aboutt screen tearing on Java based sites. But supposedly if you are running dual channel DRAM ie matching pairs, its not an issue.

The Lenovo Win7 gpu drivers seem to be inferior at this time to the Vista ones. I still have problems with the distinctly inferior Win7 gpu driver when used under 64bit. Under 32bit it is OK. Other features of Win7 are so much superior, though...

Why doesn't he just use the Quadro 195.62 or 195.81 drivers fresh from nVidia's site? Simple solution to me... they do have Windows 7 drivers by now, and seeing as even ThinkPad GPU's are compatible with them i wouldn't be complaining, i'm running on 195.62 and playing GTA IV as well, and they are very stable, no artifacts, no crashes (yet) and nothing else bad related to the drivers, i would just use them, my score (albeit the 15" non-crippled 570M) is currently 5.1.

Well perhaps... i have nothing to compare temps with different drivers to, but i'm idling at 40-46 so... Do you do anything heavy on your T61p, cause i play GTA 4 on the 195.62 drivers all the time and max temp according to HWmonitor for the GPU is only 75C, which is a pretty cool temp for GTA 4 and pretty cool for gaming in general on this class of a GPU.

I have a RTM Windows 7-N system on my 4 GB T61p. The score on system performance with the T7800 is 5.1.

yes you can get 45 degrees idling temp in T61p when you first get the laptop... that is about the temperature that my T61p was idling at for the first 3 months of lifespan.... but after that it deteriorate significantly, the temperature shot up to 60 degrees during idling.... running the same software, nothing additional was installed or changed.
