Wow, WUXGA, that is going to make things so tiny!

I am amazed they would put in UWB as well...seems very early and few other devices that would utilize it with the laptop right now:

lol just reading through that manual makes me excited...when i get it ima get the urge to challenge myself to take it completely apart and put it back together...but i think ill fight that urge lol since its worth $2k and ive never taken one apart before..but makes me want to wait for it to come out :)

Grentz - UWB is a technology, not a product. Fundamentally, UWB is just another way to transmit data wirelessly - there needs to be an upper layer protocol, such as wireless USB, to make the technology useful.

Still I'm really curious about what they have in there. It seems to be a mini "PCI Express" card, so you'll have to give up Robson or WWAN. Probably something like this: http://www.wisair.com/products/reference-designs/wusb-pci-e-mini-card/

neonlaser - If you do take your laptop apart, either get a tube of temporary threadlocker (blue loctite) or order a new screw set. Otherwise you risk screws unscrewing themselves a few years later and bouncing around inside the laptop. If this if your first time, follow the hardware maintenance manual's FRU removal instructions.

I was sorda just joking about actually taking it apart..except for replacing memory and hard drive which will be the only things i will most likely be replacing but i was kidding about taking it completely apart..lol

Wow! It says copyright May 2007!!!! They wouldn't have copyrighted something without products already produced. That means the bloody T61p's are ready, and they're just sitting on them!

I think he meant that these manuals were released yesterday.

I think it's pretty weird that they neglected to mention a discrete video card.

Thanks for the info. Does this mean there will be T61 with standard screen (4:3) coming out soon? That's exactly what I'm hoping for, perhaps I should wait for a while?
