Like many others on here, I finally received my T61p this past Monday and I am in the process of doing a clean install of Vista 64-bit on it. One thing I noticed was the speed at which the laptop connects to my network.

I have a Linksys WRT350N router and have no problems connecting to it with this new laptop...however when I check the connection status, it says it is transmitting at 54kbps......Wireless-G mode. Not sure how the laptop needs to be configured so that it can receive in Wireless-N mode?

Any help from the gurus on this board??

    thanks

You have to use no encryption or WPA2 with AES/CCMP encryption in order for the 4965AGN to connect at N speeds.

Thanks for the quick response....I'll have to try it out when I get home.

Though I don't remember seeing the WPA2 as an option with the Intel software for the card?

If you use Access Connections, setup a new profile, under Wireless Security Type choose Use IEEE 802.x Authentication. Then under properties you should be able to setup WPA-2 and the rest of the stuff like AES.
