Someone told me about T61p serious graphics problems.
    [nVidia Quadro FX 570M 256MB]
    Please read http://forum.thinkpads.com/...

Dose anyone have the same issue?

How can I tell if I have the same problem( if I don't want to install games, like "Bioshock")?

The best way to see if you have the specific problem that is being discussed is to download the Bioshock demo, and see if it crashes.. If it crashes, then remove the second-slot dimm ram chip, and test Bioshock again. If that cures the crash, then you have the specific motherboard problem, that can only be fixed (apparently) by replacing the planar. If you don't run games, then it may never matter to you...

I have had the unit for a few months now. The graphics card works fine. Runs Orange box, and bioshock/crysis demo just fine without crashes.

bsodder summarizes the problem pretty well.

I just got my T61p and tested it with PCDoctorv5 (video tests), 3DMark05 and 06, and BioShock Demo. No problems.

And, also be prepared after that to further improve the video with the latest drivers. I then updated to 162.04 and had even improved performace.

Just tested my t61p(Quadro FX570M 256MB, 1+2GB RAM) with BioShock Demo for my T61p . No problem, too.

    Besides, RAM/Drivers/Vista and 64-bit Vista/XP problem,
Is this a REAL graphic issue or particular issue in defective planar?

By the way, I've never update nVidia driver with Windows Update but Lenovo System update.

    merlin,

After extensive surfing of the forums, I have not been able to find a definitive reason for the problem but only a definitive solution (mobo replacement).

Could be a set of bad MOBOs with cold solder joints....could be anything.
