    Hi all,

Is it normal for a new T61P to have a "hot electronics" smell? That's the best way I can describe it. The oder is like the one you get out of the back of a hot CRT monitor or a new TV. The machine is running well. No issues. Just the noticable smell. The harder it works the more noticable it is.

Initially I dismissed it thinking it would subside over time, but it's been about a week (maybe 15 hours runtime) and I can still smell it. Do you think it's an issue?

    You're help is appreciated.

    Tom

Don't worry about it. It is perfectly normal and harmless. The smell will diminish with time.
