    Where do I get started in order to calibrate the t61p lcd?

    Is there some software I need to get?

    Thanks

    You can use Adobe Gamma, which comes in some Adobe products. The only problem with using this is it may not be super accurate color calibration as you use your own eyes to do the calibration.

    Another solution would be to use hardware calibration such as the Spyder products made by Datacolor or the Eye-One Display by xrite.

    dimonay - do you have a calibration for your WUXGA? What are the numbers?

    @bsodder:

    I actually do not have any calibration on my WUXGA.

    I'm going to be saving up for a Spyder, although I'm not sure which model I want because I'm debating which would be better in the long run.

    But once I do calibrate my LCD I'll be sure to post it up on NBR, because I have yet to see a profile for the WUXGA.

    Dimonay - Nice LCD in your specs! I didn't know they made such high resolution for the 15.4"

    If you can find one used the Monaco Optix can't be beat in the price range. Unfortunately it's discontinued and anytime one goes on ebay it is snapped up quickly. If you can’t find one I’d look at the eye-one 2 display calibrator. Better than the spyder by a long shot, and easier to get a hold of.

    I've been trying to get a Monaco Optix all month and keep losing the bid LOL I'm going to have to try to snipe the next one gets posted :(

    When you configure your T61p you have the option to get a WUXGA display, before it just used to be WUXGA as the standard option, but I guess people didn't like having that much "real estate".

    @angelicvoices: How much do the Monaco Optix go for?

    If you are going to spend the cash on a hardware calibration device, I would recommend the X-Rite "Eye One Display 2" as it is generally considered to be much better than the Spider or Huey devices which are also popular. About $250. (note that the Eye One was also marketed by Pantone and GretagMacbeth before X-Rite bought them)

    Check the reviews on photography sites since they are the ones most serious about accurate colour.

    Has anyone tried to use two different profiles on the built in LCD and an external monitor? I am using Vista 32-bit Ultimate and I seem to only be able to use one profile for both screens.

    I am using Vista (x64, doesn't matter probably) and it switches between profiles automatically. Make sure you have a service called TMM running, it manages different settings for different monitors.
