    Hello, I need Your hepll.
    I already ordered T61p with "42V8172 SBB DVD REC.8XMAXDUAL LAY UB-S" at the moment I am wary if this read and writte CD or only DVD.
    Does any one knows.

    There is another choise "CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo 24X/24X/24X/8X Max, Ultrabay Slim [add $17.50 $10.50] "

    What should I think that the first and cheeper choise is the same as the secound plus DVD recording?

    The more expensive option...$50 upgrade read and writes both DVD and CD.

    This is not the unsrer on my Qestion......
    What does "42V8172 SBB DVD REC.8XMAXDUAL LAY UB-S" really do?

    Also there is no more upgrade.... Only this 2 choises...

    As far as I know, every DVD writer is able also to burn CD-R and CD-RW

    OK...let me explain this in bite-size to you. My mistake about $50 thingy up there.

    Option 1 (default option)
    DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim [Lenovo recommended]Free upgrade!

    This above reads and writes DVDs and CDs.

    Option 2 ($10 ''upgrade'' which really isnt an upgrade at all)
    CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo 24X/24X/24X/8X Max, Ultrabay Slim [add <strike>$17.50</strike> $10.50]

    As far as I can see you picked the default option which does everything you want.


    Read and write CD and DVD (option 1).

    The default option (1), which you ordered.


    Therefore nothing to worry about.
