Alright everybody...lets see if you guys can solve my problem cause obviously IBM/Lenovo can't.
I started to have a problem with my thinkpad not loading Vista properly. When I would start up my computer, it would load up properly until I got to the place where the vista login screen should be. Instead I just got a blank screen and all that was on it was my cursor (and just for the record it appears that the nvidia driver loaded as well from the resolution of the cusor.) I had this problem several times and every time i used the hidden partition I was able to fix the computer. But after a while I would get the same problem over and over. I don't remember what the scenario was the first couple times it crashed but I eventually discovered that if the computer wasn't shut down properly or had conflicting methods such as "hibernate" and then I would "close the lid to make it sleep" I would have the same problem. I ran several tests with several technicians at IBM and I sent my machine back to IBM where they re-imaged the hard drive. Today when I got my machine back vista wanted me to install updates and I did that...except it was taking several hours to restart my computer. So I had no choice but to "unproperly" shut down my machine by holding down the power button. And guess what...same problem. I called IBM up and they kept telling me that I was responsible for anything that I loaded onto my computer and that it was a software issue and that it worked just fine when it left the factory...even though I have had this problem before with no software on the machine besides what came from the factory. I don't have time to keep sending my machine back and forth so they offered to send me discs that would allow me to re-image my hard drive myself (i'll see what they end up being.) I had to get going so I wasn't able to raise a fit but obviously there is another issue here and I don't know what it is. I would love your guys help on how to solve this issue or any input that you may have.
Thanks ahead of time.
