I'm deciding between the WSXGA and WUXGA screens, and while I plan on running in 1680x1050, I would gladly pay more for a better quality (higher brightness/contrast) screen. Is the WUXGA screen better quality than the WSXGA one?

WUXGA is noticeably dimmer, otherwise build quality is the same as WSXGA as far as I could tell. Contrast isnt great on any of the screens, but is passable for a laptop LCD.

If you have the opportunity I would recommend working on a 15.4" screen with WUXGA resolution for a few days before buying to make sure you like it as it wont look as sharp if you opt to run at a lower non-native resolution later.

Thanks for the info, if the WUXGA is actually *dimmer*, then I have absolutely no reason to get it over the WSXGA. I'll stick with the WSXGA screen since I'd rather run in 1680x1050 anyway. Good point on the non-native res, I didn't even consider that.
