    I was curious as to which ones are useful, and which I can just delete. There is so much that I am sure it is slowing down the laptop. I would like to keep the most important (without reformatting), but I do not know which they are. Also, is it possible to re-install thinkvantage software once they are deleted? Any info on what I can delete on this is much appreciated. It came with zero software so It seems like once you delete them they are gone forever.

    On a side note I just want to say that my T61p is great, and I have no complaints. It is built well, the screen is nice (though could be a tad brighter) with no dead pixels, and it performs great (minus all the useless programs running on this currently).

    Good question. It comes down to the user partly. When I reformatted though, I kept only three pieces of ThinkVantage software:

    * Power Manager
    * Active Disk Protection
    * EasyEject Utility

    The EasyEject utility I definitely did not need, lol. The other two are great though, IMO.

    Hope this helps a little.

    Glad to here that you like your T61p. I am loving mine as well! ;)

    With thinkvantage rescue and recovery, you can always return the laptop to it's factory settings' state with a touch of a button. Even if you uninstal r & r.

    OH and if you have the fingerprint reader you need to keep the software on that. It won't function without it.
