We have 4 T61p notebooks here and every one of them plays choppy video when on battery. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone have the solution? It doesn't make sense to upgrade to the best video card and then get crappy performance on battery! We have not had this problem with any of the 21 intel video cards we have.

We have tried disabling the "Powermiser" settings in the nVidia control panel, as well as using both the lenovo provided drivers and the laptop2go drivers. Thanks for any help!

Check the laptop's power settings via Power Manager.

Since naturally there is a trade-off between optimal video performance and optimal battery run-time one can't have both.

That said, if the laptop's power settings are set to run at the absolute best power saving mode whilst on battery power, the video (and even the CPU) must run slower than normal to conserve the battery's charge and as such overall performance will surely be lacking.

That doesn't seem to fix it. I should have mentioned that even if you set the power manager to Maximum Performance it still does it.
