At least I think it's a line of dead pixels and not a scratch (I shined a flashlight directly on the screen when it was off and didn't see a scratch). Immediately when the screen turns on from a coldboot I can see the outline of the line against the backlight. It's a diagonal line on the bottom third of the screen.
I found this when searching online for a solution. What do you guys think:
Should I just have it sent in (I rather not, I need my notebook for school)? I can't see bending the screen on the T61p even 1 degree.![]()

Sounds like the issue to me undoubtedly, and yes - if under warranty I would send that in ASAP. Lines like that usually will not go away... in fact, in my experience they get worse.

If it's under warranty, send it in. My dad delivered my new to me, refurbed T61p to me in France last year and on initial turn on it had a line of dead pixels across the screen. After a few calls, the tech guy for France (actually a guy from Burkina Faso, living in Glasgow -- talk about globalization!) dispatched a courier to pick up the computer. Voila, 3 days later I am off and running with a new screen. No problems since.
Hope your experience goes as well.

As others have said, send it in. Can you really not do without it for a few days? I didn't have a notebook whilst at university (for most of my first year Comp Sci I didn't even have my own computer) - we all got by with writing notes and using the computer clusters on campus.
T61p with a line of dead pixels?
