This is the second time this has happened. The first time I had to do a complete restore to my Vista backup and a new upgrade install to Win7. I was using the fingerprint reader to login to Vista and now Win7 but for some reason the screen (with the blue/green swirly background) comes up without the fingerprint icon and I can't get past the screen. I can see that the laptop is not frozen (the hard drive icon is flashing) but cntl-alt-del, etc. doesn't get me past the screen.

I can boot to safe mode but when I try to shut down the biometric process (hoping to get to a normal login screen) I get a message that I don't have admin access to make that kind of change even though my login has admin privileges. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You dont have a password as a secondary method of login in?

I dont have a fingerprint scanner, but is there way to disable it through the Control Panel?
