    Hello people,
I have decided to purchse the Lenovo T61p 15.4" widescreen notebook.I have a few queries :

1)The current sale that the Lenovo website is offering seems very good where I was able to get a really good configuration for around $1400,however I am in no hurry to buy and the sale is till December 10 only.Do you guys see the prices dropping further around the holidays (Dec 20 to Jan 1) or should I buy it before the the current discount ends?

2)My work involves me traveling to India often. Will I need to order a specific Power Adapter for use there or will the AC adapter that comes with the notebook work?

3)I own a copy of Windows XP Professional. Is it possible for me to buy the notebook configured with Vista Home Edition and then do a clean install with my XP disc?(If not I will have to buy the darned thing with Xp which costs $130 more :( )

    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers,
    Lanchka

Not sure about the others, but 3) Yes, you may certainly do a clean install with your own disc. I did that on mine. Get the Home Basic edition and save money in the process...

Well ,I called up their Technical Support number and they said that the AC adapter would work fine.
Which just leaves the first query, any one have any info on what the pricing on the T61p will look like in the future around christmas?

    Hello,

my question is similar. IBM offers a discount of 25% till Dec. 10th as the first post already said.
I'm from Europe and I'm thinking about buying a T61p till Dec 10th for this discount.
Unfortunately it might be possible that I will receive the notebook through friends moving back to Europe not until June 2008.

Will the prices drop under the current discount till June 2008?

Is the current discount price from IBM cheaper than an average price from a local/internet dealer?

What is a well known low cost IBM internet dealer?

Where can I check the prices online? I tried pricegrabber.com and bestprice.com but I could not really find a T61p that I liked.

    Thanks in advance,

    Notbuch-User

I just ordered my T61p as well. As for the pricing going down towards Christmas I think you would have to wait and see. It all depends on if they come out with something new or if they aren't at all. If they do then the price will drop dramatically but if not then it might drop slightly but not that much. If anything wait till January if you can to see what Lenovo brings out.

I'll have to double check, but I thought the 25% sale ended last night. I think the ecoupon is still good though.

EDIT: You were right - 10th it is

    patiently waiting for my T61p

Go to the Lenovo website and configure a T61 to your liking, then add it to your cart. Apply this coupon: USPTSERIESDEC at the bottom right of the cart webpage. Apply the coupon and it should give you the discount.
