    Hi,

Does anyone know why the T6x series laptops are up to .5" thicker (1.4 - 1.5") than the T43 series (1.0")?

    Thanks!

    Because of this:

The T6x series have a top and bottom roll cage. It provides better structure and durability for the notebook. On the other hand, the T43 does not have a roll cage, so it can be thinner and slightly lighter.

Thanks, that makes sense. I guess the roll cage is a good justification. Hopefully the technology will allow them to keep the roll cage and get back to the svelt 1" profile soon.
