I've looked through the TA book a lot of times, and also at specs on resellers and so on and they don't seem to match:
The TA book seems to list:
z61t 4-cell black: 4.63 lb
T60 14" - up to 5.5 lb
T60 15" - up to 6.3 lb
T60 WS - up to 6.05 lb
I guess I believe given the same wording the the T60 weights were measured the same...
The "tech spec" sheets say:
Z61t:
Travel weight/with optical drive:
Black: starting at 1.9kg (4.17 lb)
Titanium: starting at 2.2kg (4.77 lb)
(I note there is only one weight given not two like the T60)
T60:
Travel weight/with optical drive
14.1": starting at 2.11kg/2.32kg (4.6 lb/5.1 lb)
15": starting at 2.40kg/2.64kg (5.3 lb/5.8 lb)
15.4": starting at 2.31kg/2.49kg (5.1 lb/5.5 lb)
They don't really seem to agree.
So you might understand my confusion... The footnotes seem to imply the TA book weights are with the optical drive and battery. The footnotes in the tech specs with a travel bezel in for the first number and an optical drive for the second (~.45 lbs for the optical drive). The TA spec weights all are about .5 lbs less...
So can anyone clear this up? As I think all these models take the same optical drives, I guess it would be most useful to know the weights without drives or batteries... Anyone got a scale?
One user weighing each model on a good scale without batteries or optical drives would certainly clear it up.

I note also the battery weight difference on the T60 6 cell vs the Z61t 4 cell is .23 lbs on the Lenovo website. Which would be the "standard" battery difference... I don't see this fixing the discrepancy.
Z61t:
4 cell 0.49 lbs
7 cell 0.84 lbs
T60:
6 cell 0.73 lbs
9 cell 1.05 lbs
