    Hello,
I would like to ask you for advice about memory suitable for my laptop.

I am about to upgrade RAM of X201i, which is currently occupied with 1x2GB module, to get 6GB RAM in total. The 2GB module is from Samsung (1066MHz, CL7), the 4GB module (Fru No. 55Y3717) I am going to purchase is from Kingston KTL-TP3B/4 (1333MHz, CL9).

Do you think I will be better with other module (e.g. 55Y3714) with the same ergo lower frequency and latency or you wouldn't be afraid of eventual incompatibility, take the Kingston (1333MHz, CL9) now and leave open possibility to get nice 2x4GB combo in the future?

    Thank you for your reply.

Not sure how "RAM sensitive" the x201's are, but I'd try the Kingston.
Usually the most performant module is just slowed down by the other; but the ensemble just works fine.

Honestly mix and matching RAM shouldn't matter, as long as it POSTs and passes a few rounds of Memtest. But given how cheap RAM is, you can get 8 GB kit for like...40 bucks or less.
