Just noticed this error in event viewer after updating to SP1.

The device driver for the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) encountered a non-recoverable error in the TPM hardware, which prevents TPM services (such as data encryption) from being used. For further help, please contact the computer manufacturer.

Any ideas on how to fix?

    Which Thinkpad?

My T61p never had this problem (type 6459), neither did my friends (type 6465).

T61p. Are you using SP1? I noticed this problem shortly after installing the service pack.

I've just noted the same issue!!! On Lenovo X61t. (After installation of Vista SP1).

Does this affect something? How can it be solved?
