I have a ThinkPad Z61t with the Intel Integrated GMA graphics and I am trying to output to an NTSC tv with an svideo cable (actually using an svideo to composite adapter I have) and it is just getting a black and white signal. Any ideas on a fix?

    Hi,

I have had this problem before too. It seemed that I actually had a wrong type of s-video to composite adapter. I was using a 4 pin svideo to composite adapter but I was getting only Luma (grayscale) but I switched to a 9 pin adapter and it worked in color. You should use either a 4 pin regular S-Video cable or try to find a 9 pin svideo to composite adapter (if you bought a new desktop video card lately, most likely it will have one. And, if you obtain one, don't worry about the two bottom pins that don't look like they would fit in the rectangular spot in the 7 pin plug on your laptop. Truth is, they do and they don't get bent. Hope this helps.

Hmm, just looked at my adapter (came with my HVR 1600 cap card from Hauppage and it looks like its a 4 pin). Dang, guess I will have to get the 9 pin.
