So Tailormade expires June 30th, in 10 days, anyone worried that they won't be able to use it towards the still not-available T61p?

Please please tell me what tailormade and fatwallet are and more important HOW to use them. PLEASE? Anyone? I'm not being sarcastic. No one will tell me. And I've been here for a month now. I know fatwallet is a website but how the heck do I use it to get a discount? And if tailormade is through american express, do I need an american express card?

You have to have an American Express card in order to use tailormade. But the thing is, there is no sign up link on the tailormade login page. Someone on either fatwallet.com or slickdeals.net (I don't remember which one) made a post where he posted the link for the signup page. But the last time I tried that link it kept on telling me that the tailormade program is an invitation only program and that my email address is not recognized.

I think tailormade probably caught wind of so many people signing up for it, it might have started restricting who can sign up for the program.

Sigh for all of the redundant questions I've answered, you'd think someone could tell me.

Do a search on posts on either tailor-made in conjunction with kebs.

someone responded with the EXACT link to signing up on tailormade. there's a good string of posts that will tell you exactly what to do.

    but in short.

sign up for tailormade, you use an american express blue card, and it credits you back later. go to fatwallet.com sign up for their program, and when you get sent over to Lenovo, put in the url for the EPP or whatever else you'll be using.

    that should do it.

TailorMade is only for Rewards Plus members, which requires you to be a member for at least 5 years, or have spent X dollars on the card or something like that. My family has used it for 20 years, so we were pretty safe with signing up.

That's not true. I just got a card two weeks ago and I signed up with tailormade and now I am a tailormade member.

If you have any of these cards: http://www201.americanexpress.com/apply/Fmacfservlet?csi=0/20/b/2/1380747639/138113816570/0/n

Then sign up for tailormade here:
    https://www142.americanexpress.com/tailormade/cmenrollStep1.do?s=23

After you are a tailormade member sign in here to see what offers they have available:

Usually, another Tailormade offer pops up sometime after the current one expires. The % or $ off (credited back) will most likely be different from the current promotion. I have seen some killer offers before for Lenovo through Amex with up to 15% (currently 10%) or $350 credit back. Who knows, you may even get a better deal in the next promo. ;)

If my unit does not ship by 6/30, I will not get my TailorMade discount, as the charge wouldn't go on before this offer expires....that is the only thing I am worried about as I know this offer will come back for TailorMade for Lenovo.

I know your concern. But, don't worry. Amex will honor the offer for the order that you placed during the promo period.

The following quote is from an e-mail from Amex CSR:

    How can Amex do that??
The discount applies to purchases before june 30 only.
If the item doesn't appear until your August statement, I cannot imagine getting the tailormade discount.

What you could do, is phone lenovo and tell them to bill you in june before it ships in August (or sept or oct or nov,... lol)
Then you get discount for sure.

    *Sigh*

Try SEARCHING. No one has ever told me directly what those discounts are. A little search-work yourself doesn't hurt.

People were able to do that before. I don't know why it would be different now. The order date matters, not the shipping date. On order, Lenovo immediately notifies Amex of the purchase and an authorization charge / credit hold is placed on the account. Though the hold cannot last for more than 2 weeks legally, there is a record of the order. Obviously, notebooks do not ship from Lenovo on the same day of order, and Amex acknowledges it in their offer.
