I purchased 2 T61 in May using my AMEX card when they had the Tailormade 10% off promotion. It has been more than 2 months since I received my laptops and I still have not received my discount. I called Tailormade many times during this period only been told that someone will contact me within 48 hours on this matter, and I never gotten any phone calls from them afterwards. When I called again today and request to talk to a supervisor, the supervisor just told me I am not eligible for the discount but she would not tell me why. She said that her senior staff have already explained everything to me many times via both telephone and email, but I never gotten any phone calls or emails from them. She said the case is already closed and resolved, and she went as far as saying "I strongly advice you to not call us anymore".

Anyways, I plan on filing a complaint at BBB and FTC. But I will probably need evidence that there was a 10% promotion during that period, which is something I don't have. I know many of you here brought T61 in May, I am wondering if any of you have saved a screenshot of the Lenovo discount webpage. If you did, I would really appreciate if you can send me a copy of it. Thanks in advance!

Wow, that sucks...what does it say on your Tailormade Account page? If you have your AMEX statement when they charged your card and then show that you signed up for Tailormade before that date, they should have no problem rectifying the situation. I know right when I made the purchase of my T61, my tailormade account showed that i purchased the laptop and when it shipped and my card was charged, my online AMEX account manager showed that Amex credited me back the Tailormade ammount back two days after Lenovo charged it....so basically i got the money back before i received the laptop.

I think I have an idea of why they think I am ineligible. I originally only brought one T61 for myself the day it came out. Then I told my friend about it about a week or so later, and kinda talked him into buying one as well. So I cancelled my original order and order two T61s hoping for the 10% (also because the price had dropped a little bit at that time). But for some reason, my original order was reinstated when they had to re-enter all T61 orders during that fiasco. So I got my original order first, and Tailormade posted and credited the 5% for that order within 2 days. I called Lenovo and Lenovo admitted it was their mistake and took back the laptop, and of course the 5% for that order was gone as well. The order for two T61s came a few days later and nothing was ever posted on Tailormade for that order.

Tailormade do have a limit of 2 PC/laptops eligible for the discount. My argument is that I shouldn't be punished for mistakes Lenovo made. I also argued that the first order was placed during the promotional period that ended on 5/14, while my second order was placed during the promotional period ended on 6/30. Those are two separate promotions even though they had identical terms, so the 2 PC/laptop limitation does not apply to me. They probalby counted both orders in the one the ended on 6/30, since Lenovo did not charge either order until June. I explained my arguments to the CSRs, and all of them agreed with my arguments and says that I should get my 10%. Of course, whether they forwarded my argument when they filled out their forms in beyond me.

I think this is a trivial problem as well, but Tailormade really made it a pain for me. Worst of all, they won't even give me a reason for the rejection (of course they claim they did).
